What is PTE?

PTE (Pearson Test of English) is an international computer-based test of English language.

  • It measures your English language ability by testing your level of English through tasks which reflect real-life settings.
  • It is widely accepted by universities, higher education institutions, and government departments around the world. PTE is most preferred English test for students due to availability of dates and instant results.
  • PTE is approved by the Australian Government for visa applications and accepted by thousands of institutions in the Australia, USA, UK and New Zealand, including Harvard, Yale and INSEAD.
  • The PTE test is based on real-life academic and general content. You will come across graphs, summaries, excerpts, and many more items that belong to things around you.
  • The test also contains both native and non-native accents, much like what you hear in films, TV and other real-life conversations from everyday life.

PTE Outline

PTE Academic is a computer-based test designed to test your English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. The test takes approximately three hours to complete. This includes an un-timed introduction of the test.

Introduction to the test and one optional scheduled break of up to 10 minutes. There are three timed parts:

Each part may contain several sections, each section is individually timed.

Intro Introduction Not timed = 25 seconds to prepare your answer
TIPS: Speak calmly and clearly, don’t be in a hurry to avoid eating your words.
