The Benefits of Living in United State

Amazing Weather All Year

US immigrants are spoilt for choice: Which of the 50 breathtaking US states should you live in? America is famous for its diversity and if you have already been there – either as a tourist or a student – will know what we are talking about when we say how beautiful and different every corner of the USA is. Climates and people change as you go from the east coast to the west coast. No matter where you go in the USA, you are sure to meet Americans who will proudly tell you their family’s immigration story. According to the United States Census Bureau, there were around 43.1 million first-generation (foreign-born) people living in the United States in 2015, and they comprised about 13.5% of the U.S. population. And who knows, you may be next!

Untouched Nature

The lower 48 states are a huge swath of territory, spanning over 3.1 million square miles from coast to coast.

But even across this seemingly limitless expanse, very little land is untouched by civilization. There are more than 4 million miles of public roads in the United States, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, and that doesn’t count private roads, utility roads or off-road vehicle trails. Add to those 2.5 million miles of oil and natural gas pipelines and approximately 160,000 miles of high-voltage transmission lines, and you’ve got a landscape diced into bite-sized bits.

So the question here is, where can you really get away from it all? Away from the sounds of distant highways, from air pollution, light pollution, pollution?

A Quiet Life with Excellent Work-Life Balance

The United States performs very well in many measures of well-being relative to most other countries in the Better Life Index. The United States ranks at the top in housing. and ranks above the average in income and wealth, health status, jobs and earnings, education and skills, personal security, subjective well-being, environmental quality, social connections, and civic engagement. It ranks below average in work-life balance. These rankings are based on available selected data.

Friendly and Welcoming People

Few cities in Virginia encapsulate the state’s motto—“Virginia is for lovers”—better than the southeastern town of Norfolk. The waterfront spot has long had an active LGBTQ+ community, as evinced by its annual Hampton Roads PrideFest, which has been held in some form for about 25 years. Norfolk’s proximity to the Chesapeake Bay gives us even more reasons to smile, like excellent seafood restaurants, and maritime museums and attractions. Traveling with kids? Be sure to stop by the Virginia Zoo, which offers workshops and seasonal activities (like a train ride with Santa!) among its wildlife exhibits.

Permanent Residency and Citizenship

A Permanent Resident card, or “green card,” is a plastic card with the individual’s biographic information, photo, fingerprint, and expiration date issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

It authorizes the green card holder the right to live and work in the United States indefinitely. Because at one time, it was green, it keeps its nickname up to today. It is also known as an “Alien Registration Card” and “Form I-551”. Currently, the card is yellowish with a magnetic barcode on the back which stores the individual’s information.  While the green card has an expiration date (10 years) and has to be renewed, the green card holder’s status as “lawful permanent resident” is still valid unless the status is abandoned or revoked by U.S. government.

Work Opportunities

Keep in mind that 95% of companies in the USA will definitely not offer you a visa sponsorship because, as we have seen before, they are quite satisfied with local hiring. So, even if you find a great open job in your field, with a perfect match with your profile, it’s not going to work 95% of the time! Try whatever you want, but the company won’t sponsor you for a visa! This is generally because they can easily find someone like you locally, or because you are not eligible for the visa they can sponsor.

Accessible Healthcare

USA has an abundance of natural resources like gems, fossil fuels, wood and other building materials. This abundance of natural resources means that is it affordable to do things in USA like build homes and make home repairs. The overall USA is a pretty rich country which bodes well for citizens that need help.

Top-Notch Education

The public education system in USA  is known for being one of the best worldwide. It is also free of charge, except for uniforms, books, and meals. Some schools also require individual annual donation fees.

Low Crime Rate

Acknowledged as one of the safest countries for expats, the crime rate in USA is extremely low compared to elsewhere in the world. USA even ranked second in both the 2019 Global Peace Index and in the 2018 Corruption Perceptions Index. Political scandals are minor compared to other countries.
